LIVE UPDATES: Punjab CM Amarinder Singh calls Arvind Kejriwal ‘big fraud’ over ‘theatrics’ on farmers’ protest; Meenakshi Lekhi had used ‘chameleon’ jibe for AAP leader

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has called his Delhi counterpart, Arvind Kejriwal, a ‘big fraud’ for the latter’s ‘theatrics’ on the controversial farm laws. This came just days after BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi said that Kejriwal put chameleons to shame after AAP leader tore the copies of controversial farm laws.

Singh, according to news agency PTI, said that Kejriwal was indulging in petty politics. He said, “This shows Kejriwal and the AAP have a different face for the people, with totally contrarian intentions hidden inside.”

Earlier, Lekhi had launched an extraordinary attack on Kejriwal saying that the AAP leader put even chameleons to shame. “Arvind Kejriwal puts chameleons to shame when it comes to changing colours within seconds. After notifying one of the farm laws in Delhi, he torn the copies of the Acts in Delhi Assembly today! He is the expert of U-turns and a champion of politics of bluff,” she had said.

Sensing an opportunity to extract the much-needed electoral mileage in the next assembly polls in Punjab, Kejriwal has performed a U-turn to extend his support to protesting farmers days after releasing the notification on one of the controversial laws.

Tens of thousands of farmers have been protesting at the Delhi-Haryana border demandign the withdrawal of the controversial farm laws.
