Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi launched yet another attack against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for shielding Sushma Swaraj in the ongoing controversy on Lalit Modi.
Speaking to reporters in Chattisgarh, a visibly aggressive Gandhi said, ” This is the same stage from where PM Modi had promised the nation that everyone will get 15 lakh rupees in their bank accounts. You all may remember his promise (during LS election campaign). But he’s now protecting a man who’s being investigated for black money. Narendra Modi sarkar ko chalate hain, Narendra Modi Hindustan ko chalate hain. Sachchayi yeah hai ki black money wale aadmi ko Narendra Modi bacha rahe hain”
Rahul Gandhi had slammed the PM on Monday saying that the PM should sack Sushma Swaraj.
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Sing too echoed his sentiment. Speaking to a news agency, Singh said that both the PM and finance minister must come clean on what he described was Modigate.
Earlier today, the finance minister Arun Jaitley had defended the action of his cbinet colleague on Lalit Modi adding that every minister in Modi’s government was capable of taking his/her own decisions.
Both the BJP and the RSS have already extended their support for Sushma Swaraj despite the latest revelation that her husband Swaraj Kaushal had been a lawyer to Lalit Modi for over 22 years.
On Monday, the BJP MP Kirti Azad had blamed aasteen ka saanp, an expression used to describe an enemy within, for this controversy. When asked by a reporter to comment on this comment, Jaitley evaded the reporter’s question.
