Peoples Democratic Party president and MP, Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that Indian government should take responsibility if youth in Jammu and Kashmir took to guns or stones.
She said, “It is not the Pakistan’s responsibility but the Indian government is responsible if youth in Kashmir opt for gun.”
While addressing a party convention in winter capital in Jammu, Mehbooba said, ” The leaders of both the countries, specially I want to convey it to the Narendara Modi government, that if a teenager from Jammu and Kashmir takes a stone and 22-year-old youth who has pursued BA or post graduation has picked up guns, then onus is on you and not Pakistan.
“Our miseries and our pain, you have to heal our wounds and take us out of it. Our Prime minister and our political parties have to resolve our problems and issues. They have to ponder over why a graduate boy took to guns in 2010 and 2014. He was not born with the gun.”
Mehbooba Mufti, whose party, PDP, is currently in alliance with the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, also asked If a 14-year -old boys indulged in stone pelting, did he “deserve to be responded with a bullet in his body?”
