Twitter users have reacted in shock after the Allahabad High Court granted bail to Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the murder of protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri last year.
Justice Rajeev Singh, who had reserved the order in the bail application filed by the union minister’s son, granted him bail on the day of the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
A report by NDTV said that the judge questioned the charges against Ashish Mishra and rejected the police investigation.
“In case, the story of the prosecution is accepted, thousands of protesters gathered at the place of incident and there might be a possibility that the driver tried to speed up the vehicle to save himself, on account of which, the incident had taken place,” the judge was quoted by Livelaw.
The Allahabad High Court added, “While considering the overall facts of the case, this Court cannot shut its eyes to the killing of three persons sitting in the Thar vehicle, including the driver, who were killed by the protesters.”

As expected, furious netizens took to social media to express their shock at the verdict. According to journalist Piyush Rai, while Ashish Mishra will be out on bail by tomorrow, the bail application of three of five arrested from the farmer’s side in the second case was rejected by a district judge in Lakhimpur Kheri.

Teni Jr gets bail, after killing several with his car and then firing on a crowd of people, live on camera.
Courts in India that have kept Sharjheel Imam, Umar Khalid, the Bhima Karegaon folks in jail for months without bail are very partial to members of the Saffron Gang.— Subir Sinha (@PoMoGandhi) February 10, 2022
#SiddiqueKappan is in jail for performing his journalist duty, didn’t get a bail from our judicial system. Teni Jr. kills farmers openly, SIT names him yet he gets bail.
Conclusion: you can kill and get bail in this country if your father is politician of the ruling party.

Ajay Mishra Teni gets bail by Allahabad High court.
If he plays victim card in Terai campaign, it can help BJP as opposition has projected him as villain.

When SC has appointed a retired judge to oversee the investigation, not sure how HC can ‘reject’ the investigation… https://t.co/oT2KLOHjaz

Ashish Mishra was summoned to appear before the police, but he refused to turn up amidst reports that the union minister’s son had fled to Nepal.
