Congress leader Navjot Singh Sindhu on Monday launched a blistering attack on the BJP while campaigning for his party in the Rajasthan assembly polls. Speaking in Jhalawar in Rajasthan, the outspoken Congress minister from Punjab said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was for ‘Ambani and Adani.’
“BJP gave us 3 Modis, Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi and the one sitting in Ambani’s lap Narendra Modi. Modi government is a puppet in the hands of big industrialists. There is nothing for poor. It’s only for Ambani and Adani,” news agency ANI quoted Sidhu as saying.
Rajasthan goes to polls on 7 December along with Telangana, while the counting is scheduled to take place on 11 December. The arrival of Navjot Singh Sindhu in the election campaign has boosted the morale of the Congress, both in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Recently, Sidhu was seen mimicking PM Modi during an election campaign in Madhya Pradesh.
On being asked about the ongoing controversy surrounding his comments on Rahul Gandhi being his ‘captain,’ Sidhu said that he did not wish to wash dirty linen in public adding that Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was like his father.
He said, “You don’t want wash dirty linen in public. He (Capt Amarinder Singh) is a fatherly figure, I love him, I respect him, I will sort it out myself.”
The controversy started after Navjot Singh Sindhu decided to visit Pakistan to attend the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor against the wishes of Punjab Chief Minister, who’s popularly known as ‘Captain.’ When asked to comment, Sidhu had said, “My captain is Rahul Gandhi. He has sent me everywhere. Our captain’s captain is Rahul Gandhi.”
