People in Kolkata voted for the 144 wards of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation on Sunday. A report by Times of India said that ward 63 BJP candidate Navin Mishra and five others were arrested after they entered into a scuffle with TMC workers.
According to news agency PTI, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee says if any party leader is found involved in violence during Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections, strict action will be taken within 24 hours, requests media to come out with related footage and evidence if available.
Adhikari was a tall TMC leader but he jumped the ship just before the assembly elections and joined the BJP.
