Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his controversial statement, mocking late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Reacting to Modi’s election speech calling Rajiv Gandhi ‘corrupt’, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Modi Ji, The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you. All my love and a huge hug. Rahul.”
Modi Ji,
The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you.
All my love and a huge hug.
Rahul

His sister and AICC General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, too warned Modi of a ‘befitting reply’ from Indians, who she said never forgave a cheater. She wrote, “A prime minister, who is known for seeking votes in the name of martyrs by insulting their martyrdom yesterday disrespected a martyr in his uncontrolled madness. People of Amethi, for whom Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life, will give befitting reply. Yes, Modi ji, this country never forgets a cheat.”

Addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh on Saturday, Modi had told Rahul Gandhi that he mustn’t forget that his own father’s life had ended as a corrupt number 1.
Modi had said, “Your courtiers had given your father the title of Mr Clean. They used to shout Mr Clean, Mr Clean with pomp and splendour. But, his life ended as ‘Bhrastachari number 1′ (corrupt number 1).”
His comments had earned him considerable anger as many accused him of stooping to a new low in a bid to secure his re-election as India’s prime minister.
