JNU fines student Amir Malik Rs 6,000 for cooking biryani near stairs

Jawaharlal Nehru University has imposed a penalty Rs 6,000 on a student for cooking biryani near the stairs of Administrative Building on the campus.

In its office order, the university administration said that the university’s proctorial inquiry, the student in question, Md Amir Malik, had been found guilty of cooking biryani near the stairs of the Administrative Building and eating with friends.

The order said, ”   Md Amir Malik, (Registration Number: 2662, Enrolment Number: 13/51/HA/011 and Year of Admission : 2013, an MA student, Centre of Arabic and African Studies, School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies and a r/o 53, Sabarmati Hostel) have been found guilty of the following act of indiscipline;

“(i) involved in cooking food (Biryani) near the stairs in front of Administrative Building on 27th June, 2017 and eating it thereafter alongwith other students.”

The order further added that the act of cooking biryani was ‘serious in nature’ and ‘unbecoming of a student of JNU.’
