A day after Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi accused her own party of giving preference to ‘lumpen goons,’ she has removed the tag ‘INC Spokesperson’ from her Twitter bio. This has given rise to speculations that Chaturvedi may have decided to snap her ties with the Congress. Meanwhile, a news flash by NDTV said that Chaturvedi had resigned from the Congress last night.

Her new Twitter bio has no reference to her association to the Congress. It now reads, “Columnist. Blogger. Saree Hoarder. Mother. Travel. Books. Music. Tweets personal, RTs not endorsement.”

Journalist Abhisar Sharma shared the screenshot of her new Twitter bio and asked, “Bye Bye Congress ?”

Many on social media speculated that Chaturvedi may join the Shiv Sena if she decided to quit the Congress. This was after ABP News reported that Chaturvedi could join the Shiv Sena after her extraordinary outbursts against the Congress leadership earlier this week.

Chaturvedi on Wednesday had taken to social media to express her anguish against the party leadership for reinstating those leaders, who had misbehaved with her during a press conference on the Rafale deal in Mathura. She had written, “Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get prefence (sic) in @incindia over those who have given their sweat&blood. Having faced brickbats&abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate.”

Since posting his tweet critical of her party, she has not shared anything on social media related to the Congress’ Lok Sabha campaign or other political engagements.
