IndiGo staff brutally beat up passenger at Delhi airport, airlines issues apology

A group of IndiGo staff, behaving like goons, brutally beat up a passenger after the latter indulged in arguments with them at Delhi airport on 15 October. The video of passenger Vinay Katiyal being thrashed by a group of IndiGo staff has now gone viral.

In the video, the rowdy staff are seen refused to let the passenger board the bus after he arrived in Delhi from Chennai. The video start with a heated argument between Katiyal and the ground staff of IndiGo airlines.

One staff member is then heard shouting ‘don’t let him board the bus.’ The passenger in question protests prompting the staff to pounce on him and dropping him on to ground.

A desperate Katiyal is then heard shouting ‘how dare you touch me, how dare you touch me?’

IndiGo Airlines has apologised for the incident while adding that the staff involved including the whistle-blower have been fired. The airline said, “Incident probed by designated committee. Took action against staff who was main culprit, by immediately terminating his employment.”

“I acknowledge the unpleasant experience our passenger went through, while engaging with our staff at Delhi airport. I had personally spoken to the passenger and asked for an apology,” said Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director of IndiGo. was quoted by NDTV.
