BJP leader Jitin Prasada on Wednesday launched a brutal dig at the veteran lawyer and politician, Kapil Sibal, after the latter left the Congress to contest the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls with the support of the Samajwadi Party. Prasada’s potshot was aimed at avenging the insult meted out to him by Sibal in the past.
Prasada, who himself was in the Congress before he joined the BJP, wrote on Twitter, “How’s the “Prasad” Mr. Sibal ! 😊#Rajyasabha @KapilSibal.”
Prasada shared a tweet that Sibal had posted in June last year mocking the former’s decision to leave the Congress and join the BJP.
Sibal had written in his tweet, “Jitin Prasada Joins BJP. The question is will he get “ prasada “ from BJP or is he just a ‘catch’ for UP elections? In such deals if ‘ideology’ doesn’t matter changeover is easy.”

Prasada was later made a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
After filing the Rajya Sabha Sabha nomination, Sibal said, “I filled the nomination (for Rajya Sabha elections) as an independent candidate. I am thankful to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav that he supported me. I also wish to convey my gratitude to Azam Khan for the support that he has given me, not just now but over several years.”
