A helicopter crashed during its take-off in Kedarnath in Uttarakhand on Monday morning. All six passengers and the pilot are believed to be safe even though the helicopter has been damaged.

The accident reportedly took place at around 11.30 AM on Monday.

Eyewitnesses said that the helicopter may have hit an electric wire during its take-off resulting in its crash.

KedarnathThis is the 7th helicopter crash since the devastating floods ravaged Kedarnath in 2013. Last year, an Air Force helicopter had crashed in Kedarnath. The crash was captured on camera.

20 people had died after an Air Force helicopter had crashed during its rescue operations in June 2013 when the ravaging floods devastated Kedarnath.

That helicopter, which was on its mission from Gauchar to Guptkashi and Kedarnath, had crashed north of Gaurikund on the return leg from Kedarnath in June 2013.
