Harvard alumnus Indian finds name in Forbes list of top 10 CEOs of Arab World, family donates house to Aligarh Muslim University

Harvard alumnus Tariq Chauhan has made it to the Forbes list of top ten CEOs of the Arab World for 2018. This is the second year in a row that Chauhan, who heads $ 1 billion EFS Facilities Services Group in Dubai, has made the cut to the elite group.

The list of 50 most powerful CEOs of the Arab World in 2018 has been announced by Forbes magazine. Chauhan, an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University and Harvard, was ranked 10th in the list of 50 most powerful executives across the gulf countries.

In the Forbes list for top CEOs in 2017, Chauhan had secured the 6th spot. He is credited with successfully leading the company to an unprecedented height by raising the revenue from $100 million to $1 bn in 2017. The workforce of the company under his leadership too has grown considerably- from 1,000 in 2009 to over 18,000 in 2017. Today his clients include Apple and HSBC among others.

Chauhan along with six other siblings received their early education from AMU. Earlier this week, the siblings dedicated their ancestral home Darul Khalil‘ in Badarbagh area of Aligarh to the AMU, which aims to use the place for the Innovation Council and Incubation Centre.

Chouhan’s brother, Mohammad Adil, also an alumnus of AMU and Haward Business School, was in Aligarh to inaugurate the Innovation Council and Incubation Centre. “When we give back to our alma maters, we get a sense of satisfaction in knowing that we’re furthering the aims of the institution that did so much to educate us and give us a better life,” he was quoted by NDTV as saying.
