The Congress on Thursday released a series of old photos of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from his old foreign trips to counter the photo of PM Narendra Modi. The Congress also used Manmohan Singh’s photos to take a dig at Modi for his refusal to hold a single press conference since becoming India’s prime minister in 2014.
“Some photographs are harder to copy. Former PM, Dr. Manmohan Singh addressing Press Conferences on board Air India One.” the Congress tweeted from its official Twitter handle.
In the photos, Singh could be seen interacting with media on board his international flights. Modi had done away with the tradition of embedding journalists on board his international flights after he became the prime minister.

Modi on Wednesday had tweeted his photo from his US-bound international flight with a caption that read, “A long flight also means opportunities to go through papers and some file work.”
In the photo, Modi could be seen going through official documents while his black bag with a lock was placed on the adjacent seat.

Modi later tweeted saying that he had landed in Washington DC adding that he intended to meet US President Joe Biden, his deputy Kamala Harris among others during his stay in America. “Will attend the Quad meeting and would also interact with leading CEOs to highlight economic opportunities in India,” he added.
