Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi held talks with PM Narendra Modi and is about to meet other BJP leaders for a possible tie up in the state, on Thursday.
After the meeting with PM Modi at his 7RCR residence, Manjhi told ANI, “The meeting was pre-scheduled. (I) wanted to bring to his notice the recent suicide of farmers in Bihar.”
Manjhi also said that he demands a CBI inquiry to oversee the problems associated with the purchase of grains in Bihar. “PM Modi listened to the issues. I spoke to him about CBI enquiry, he said he will facilitate it,” said Manjhi.
Hinting at being open to join hands Manjhi, BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday said talks are on and his party’s doors are open for new allies.
The Bihar polls, which are due this September, are being seen as a cruicial test for the Bhartiya Janata Party.
