In the video, one student can be heard saying, “We were around 1,000 students in one shelter. An offer was made that whoever cleans the toilet will be given preference in evacuation. Seriously? We are expected to clean the toilet after so much of struggle?”

The student said that students agreed to clean the toilet since they were desperate to return back to the country. When asked why they did not raise the matter earlier, the student said that students feared that the authorities may not evacuate them at all.

Several Indian students have accused the officials working in Indian embassies in and around Ukraine of apathy. According to Dainik Bhaskar newspaper, Bihar’s Pratibha, who was studying medicine in Vinnystia Medical University in Ukraine, said that the embassy staff did not respond to their desperate calls for help. However, when one student posted his video on Facebook, the embassy was quick to contact the student ordering him to delete the video.
