Delhi’s Tees Hazari Court dismisses Police’s application seeking custody of the two AAP MLAs

Delhi’s Tees Hazari Court on Wednesday dismissed the application moved by the city police seeking the  custody of the two AAP MLAs, Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal. Both MLAs were arrested in connection with the alleged assault on Delhi’s chief secretary, Anshu Prakash.

The court, however, sent both the MLAs in judicial custody till Thursday.

While Jarwal was arrested last night, the Okhla MLA had surrendered before Jamia Police Station on Wednesday. Khan was later arrested before being produced before the Delhi court on Wednesday afternoon.

This was after Delhi Police took VK Jain, Delhi Chief Minister’s advisor, into its custody in the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash case. This came just hours after the cops had taken AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal into custody in connection with the same case.

Jain was taken in police custody for questioning from his residence in Maharani Bagh. He was later released. Prakash, in his complaint, had alleged that it was Jain, who called him several times on the phone asking him to come to the residence of Kejriwal.
