The case came to light when a resident of Valmiki Street in Tughlakabad had called to complain about her daughter, who seemed to be suffering from mental illness and required assistance from the Delhi Commission for Women. A counsellor was sent to their house by DCW to assist the daughter. While the counsellor was conversing with the girl’s family, a drunken Vinod appeared and started abusing the counsellor and her driver. As the local residents’ tried to calm the situation down, Vinod got more aggravated and brought a stick from his house and ran after the counsellor. Even though he was stopped by the locals, it left the counsellor with a horrendous experience.
The counsellor noted that Vinod called himself a local politician’s henchman. But the horror wasn’t over, as Vinod persisted and tried his best to assault the counsellor with a brick while chasing her. The locals did their best to control him, but the situation got out of hand and the counsellor has to call the Delhi Police for assistance. But unfortunately the assaulter escaped before the police could reach. Following that, a complaint was made against him, and an FIR has been registered.
