A cop in Uttar Pradesh has filed a police complaint against the BJP MP from Dhaurahra, Rekha Verma, alleging that she slapped him when he was on escort duty on Sunday night.
Police constable Shyam Singh, according to news agency ANI, alleged that Verma also made disparaging remarks about him.”She passed insulting remarks at me slapped me without a reason,and immediately left the spot. I’ve filed a complaint against her.Hope to get justice,” Singh was quoted as saying.

Singh, who is posted at Mohammadi kotwali police station, said in his complaint that Verma threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to improved his behaviour.
“The unexpected incident has triggered fear, affecting normal duty work,” Hindustan Times quoted his complaint. The PRO of Kheri SP said that an FIR under sections 504, 506, 332 and 353 had been lodged at Mohammadi kotwali ‘on the complaint of the police constable.’
Lakhimpur Kheri SSP Poonam told Times of India, “We have registered an FIR against parliamentarian Rekha Verma at Mohammadi police station after receiving a complaint from constable Shyam Singh, who was on her escort duty. The complaint was registered after a preliminary investigation.”
A news report by Hindi newspaper Jagran said that Verma had denied allegations of slapping the constable saying that she merely scolded the constable for indecent behaviour.
