The Congress on Monday released its list of six candidates for Delhi with former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit being fielded from Delhi North East constituency against BJP’s Manoj Tiwari.
Among other candidates, JP Agrawal will face BJP’s Dr Harshvardhan in Chandni Chowk, Arvinder Singh Lovely has been fielded from East Delhi, Ajay Maken is the candidate from New Delhi, while Mahabal Mishra will contest from West Delhi. Rajesh Lilothia will be the candidate from North West Delhi.
The Congress’ list came hours after the BJP announced its list of candidates for Delhi. The saffron party has fielded Union Minister Harshwardhan from Chandni Chowk, Manoj Tiwari from North East Delhi, Pravesh Verma from West Delhi and Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi.
The Aam Aadmi Party, which was in talks for an alliance with the Congress for Delhi was the first party to announce its candidates for the national capital. Six AAP candidates namely Atishi Marlena (East Delhi), Dilip Pandey (North East Delhi), Guggan Singh (North West Delhi), Raghav Chadha (South Delhi), Brijesh Goyal (New Delhi) and Pankaj Gupta (Chandni Chowk) are expected to file their nominations today. The party’s West Delhi candidate Balbir Singh Jakhar has already filed his nominations.
