Congress President Rahul Gandhi sat at Rajghat for a fast while accusing the Cnetre’s Narendra Modi government of disturbing social harmony in the country. Many senior Congress functionaries including the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Maken and Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit too joined him for the fast.
However, a BJP leader posted the photo of Maken enjoying meal along with other Congress functionaries including Arvinder Singh Lovely and Haroon Yusuf. In the photo, three Congress leaders were seen enjoying sumptuous meal before they sat on the fast. Lovely, who had joined the BJP last year, recently returned to the Congress fold.
BJP leader, Harish Khurana, claimed that the leaders were seen eating at a restaurant on Monday morning. The photo went viral on social media platforms with users taking potshots at the Congress leaders.
However, Lovely told ANI that the photo was taken at 8 AM and during the fast. He said, “Photograph is of before 8 am, this is symbolic fast from 10.30 am to 4.30pm,it is not indefinite hunger strike. This is what is wrong with these(BJP) people, instead of properly running the country, they concentrate on what we eat.”

Gandhi, who’s been actively campaigning for his party in Karnataka, took a break to lead the fast at Rajghat. The Congress president has been routinely embarrassing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP with his witty tweets. Monday’s development will come as a setback to his efforts to place the BJP on the back-foot.
