Bureaucrats transferred after the Ministry of Home Affairs notification of May 21, 2015, have refused to take up their posts following the confusion over the competent authority.
According to reports, these officers are Amar Nath, Parimal Rai and Anindo Majumdar. They have reportedly written to the chief secretary KK Sharma while copying the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung asking them to clarify the situation.
Nath was given additional charge as secretary hearth on May 25, while Rai was appointed principal secretary, social welfare on May 27. Majumdar, was transferred to become the CMD of Delhi Finance Commission the same day.
Majumdar was recently in the centre of a huge controversy for first issuing orders on the appointment of Shakuntala Gamlin as acting chief secretary and then being locked out of his office.
A report published in Indian Express says that the LG office is currently waiting for the official papers on these postings from the Delhi government.
While the MHA notification had given sweeping powers to the LG Najeeb Jung on matters related to transfers and postings of officers in Delhi government, Delhi High Court, in its interim order, recently directed the LG to consider proposals sent by the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government.
The HC also stated that if LG Jung was not satisfied with the proposals, he could send it back to the Council of Ministers.
