Police in Punjab say that a BSF jawan killed four of his colleagues on Sunday morning before taking his own life. The BSF jawan, who opened fires at his colleagues has been identified as constable Setteppa SK.

According to Amritsar Rural police senior superintendent of police (SSP) Deepak Hilori, the condition of one BSF personnel continues to remain critical. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Amritsar.
Although the BSF has not issued any statement, Indian Express quoted sources claiming that the jawan, who opened fire at colleagues, was unhappy with his duty hours.
The incident took place at the BSF mess in the Khasa area, situated around 20 km away from the Attari-Wagah international border with Pakistan.
