Veteran Congress leader, Ashok Gehlot, has sensationally alleged that the Gujarat Police with the help of the IB had illegally obtained the CCTV footage of his meeting with the Patidar leader Hardik Patel.
This was after local TV channels in Gujarat began to broadcast the stills from a hotel CCTV footage of Hardik walking into a hotel, where the Congress leader is staying. Gehlot alleged that the Gujarat Police had obtained the footage from the hotel and shared it with the IB and the news channels.
An angry Gehlo tweeted, “I met Hardik n Jignesh in Ummed Hotel. IB, Police are chckng hotel rooms.
@PMOIndia @narendramodi ji Wat is happening in Gandhiji’s Gujarat? The rooms which hv been booked in my name are being checked. We are openly saying, we have met them n will keep meeting them in future too.

Gehlot, who’s Congress party’s in-charge of Gujarat affairs, asked why when the BJP leaders met, they were not checked.
He said, “When they met BJP leaders, then their offices were not checked. Why it is being done now? Are #HardikPatel and #JigneshMevani criminals or absconders? If that is so, BJP must clear its stand.”

Gehlot asked why Why ‘CCTV footage was taken by IB and police from Hotel?’
He asked, “Is the right to privacy, sole proprietorship of Jay Amit Shah?”
Jay Shah has been in news after his company was reported to have experienced a phenomenal growth of 16,000 times since Narendra Modi became the prime minister.
Gujarat goes to polls this December. The BJP, which has been in government for 22 years is facing huge anti-incumbency this time around. Hardik Patel, OBC leader Alpesh Thakor and the Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani have opened up fronts against the saffron party. Thakor had joined Congress party on Monday.
