The doctor in question said in the audio clip that he was based in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. To which, Gandhi was heard saying to Dr. Vikas Sharma, “You don’t use your full name because you are a disgrace to your family.”

Gandhi asked in the audio where the doctor had acquired his MBBS degree from. When the doctor said that he had acquired his degree from Jabalpur, Gandhi was heard saying, “NDVSU Jabalpur, which is the worst place. What does your father do? Is he a gardener or security guard?”

Reacting to the viral audio, BJP MLA from Patan in Jabalpur district, Ajay Vishnoi, tweeted, “The veterinary college of Jabalpur doesn’t become a lowly institute just because MP Mrs. Maneka Gandhi spoke to Dr. Vikas Sharma using such languages. But, what it shows is that Maneka Gandhi is an extremely lowly person. I am ashamed that she is an MP (not a leader) from my party.”

The voice in the viral audio could not be independently confirmed that to be of Maneka Gandhi, who has not yet commented on the controversy. Meanwhile, students, staffers and officers of the Nanaji Deshmukh veterinary college in Jabalpur also staged a protest against Gandhi.
