6 killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur after electric bus rams into cars, pedestrians

Police in Uttar Pradesh say that at least six people were killed and several injured after a speeding electric bus rammed into cars and pedestrians. The incident took place near Tatmill crossing in Kanpur.

Pramod Kumar, DCP East Kanpur, told reporters that three cars had been damaged in the accident, adding that those injured had been rushed to local hospitals.



According to reports, the speeding bus first hit a pole on which CCTV cameras were installed before ramming into cars and mowing down pedestrians.

Reacting to the incident, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra tweeted, “Received the tragic news of Kanpur road accident. Condolences to the relatives of those killed. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.
