कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं का पिछले काफी अरसे से इंतजार सोमवार (4 दिसंबर) को समाप्त हो गया है। 47 वर्षीय कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी ने सोमवार सुबह अध्यक्ष पद के लिए नामांकन दाखिल कर दिया। राहुल के नामांकन दाखिल करने के इस मौके पर कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी, पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह सहित पार्टी के तमाम वरिष्ठ नेता मौजूद थे। दरअसल राहुल गांधी का अध्यक्ष बनना तय है, क्योंकि उनके खिलाफ अभी तक किसी ने नामांकन नहीं किया है।

जबकि पंजाब विधानसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले बीजेपी छोड़ कांग्रेस में शामिल हुए नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू ने अपने अंदाज में राहुल गांधी को ‘बब्बर शेर’ बताते हुए शुभकामनाएं दी। सिद्धू ने कहा कि, ‘100 भेड़ों के आगे एक शेर लगाओ तो भेड़ भी शेर हो जाती हैं और 100 शेरों के आगे एक भेड़ लगा तो शेर ढेर हो जाते हैं। यहां शेर नहीं बब्बर शेर है।’

वहीं, पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह भी इस मौके पर दिल्ली में मौजूद हैं। उन्होंने राहुल गांधी को अध्यक्ष बनने के लिए अग्रिम बधाई देते हुए कहा कि वह प्रधानमंत्री बनने के योग्य हैं। सिंह ने कहा कि, ‘अगर आप मुझसे पूछे तो मैं कहूंगा कि राहुल गांधी में प्रधानमंत्री बनने के गुण हैं और वह बहुत अच्छे प्रधानमंत्री बनेंगे।’

बता दें कि राहुल गांधी के कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष की जिम्मेदारी संभालते ही उनकी मां सोनिया गांधी का पार्टी प्रमुख के तौर पर 19 साल का कार्यकाल खत्म हो जाएगा। मौजूदा अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी 1998 से लेकर अब तक सबसे लंबे समय तक कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष रहीं। चुनाव मैदान में राहुल गांधी के एकमात्र उम्मीदवार रहने की संभावना है और कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के रूप में उनके चुनाव के लिए सभी रास्ते खुल गए हैं।
