हिंदी समाचार चैनल ‘एनडीटीवी इंडिया’ के मशहूर एंकर और मैनेजिंग एडिटर रवीश कुमार को वर्ष 2019 के प्रसिद्ध ‘रैमॉन मैगसेसे’ पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। रवीश कुमार को ये सम्मान हिंदी टीवी पत्रकारिता में उनके योगदान के लिए मिला है। रैमॉन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार के ऐलान के बाद ट्विटर पर राजनीतिक पार्टी के नेताओं सहित तमाम यूजर्स रवीश कुमार को बधाईयां दे रहे हैं और उनकी जमकर सराहना कर रहे हैं। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने भी ट्वीट कर रवीश कुमार को बधाई दी है।
बता दें कि ‘रैमॉन मैगसेसे’ को एशिया का नोबेल पुरस्कार भी कहा जाता है। रैमॉन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार एशिया के व्यक्तियों और संस्थाओं को उनके अपने क्षेत्र में विशेष रूप से उल्लेखनीय कार्य करने के लिए प्रदान किया जाता है। यह पुरस्कार फिलीपीन्स के भूतपूर्व राष्ट्रपति रैमॉन मैगसेसे की याद में दिया जाता है। पुरस्कार संस्था ने अपने ट्विटर अकाउंट से ट्वीट कर बताया कि रवीश कुमार को यह सम्मान “बेआवाजों की आवाज बनने के लिए दिया गया है।”

एनडीटीवी की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, रैमॉन मैगसेसे अवार्ड संस्था ने इस संबंध में कहा, “रवीश कुमार का समाचार कार्यक्रम ‘प्राइम टाइम’ आम लोगों की वास्तविक जीवन से जुड़ी समस्याओं से संबंधित है।” अवॉर्ड संस्था ने कहा, “यदि आप लोगों की आवाज बन गए हैं, तो आप एक पत्रकार हैं।” रवीश कुमार ऐसे छठे पत्रकार हैं जिनको यह पुरस्कार मिला है। इससे पहले अमिताभ चौधरी (1961), बीजी वर्गीज (1975), अरुण शौरी (1982), आरके लक्ष्मण (1984), पी. साईंनाथ (2007) को यह पुरस्कार मिल चुका है।
रवीश कुमार काफी लंबा सफर तय कर इस मुकाम पर पहुंचे हैं। उन्होंने काफी नीचे से अपने करियर की शुरुआत की और आज एनडीटीवी इंडिया के मैनेजिंग एडिटर के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। वर्ष 1996 में रवीश कुमार एनडीटीवी से जुड़े थे। शुरुआती दिनों में वह एनडीटीवी में आई चिट्ठियां छांटा करते थे। इसके बाद उन्होंने रिपोर्टिंग की ओर मुड़े और उनकी सजग आंख देश और समाज की विडंबनाओं को अचूक ढंग से पहचानती रही। इसके बाद उन्होंने एंकरिंग करनी शुरू कर दी। उनका कार्यक्रम ‘रवीश की रिपोर्ट’ बेहद चर्चित हुआ।
