Priyanka Chadda, a woman who leveled charges of fraud against singer Mika Singh, allegedly consumed sleeping pills outside a Gurudwara at Thaltej in Ahmedabad on Sunday afternoon. The lady was soon rushed to Sola Civil Hospital.
Assistant Sub-Inspector of Vastrapur police station, K G Chavda said, “Chaddha said that she had regained consciousness, and her condition was stable.” The police later registered a case of fraud, cheating and criminal conspiracy under Sections 420, 406, 114,120B and 506 of the IPC.
According to Chadda`s statement to the police “she went into depression after losing an enormous amount of rupees 27 lakhs and consumed sleeping pills.” She claimed that Mika Singh and his manager Kawaljeet Singh had allegedly collected the amount of rupees 27 lakhs for a concert in Ahmedabad in March but was postponed due to the dominance of swine flu in Gujarat.
Meanwhile, she paid the token money of Rupees 7.5 lakhs to his manager Kawaljeet at Mumbai and received a written receipt of confirmation. Later, Kawaljeet demanded the full amount before the concert and collected Rs.27 lakhs from her but Mika Singh held a show on Sunday in partnership with others.
