IAS topper Tina Dabi may not have expected such a profound change in her life so soon after her second marriage with fellow civil servant Dr. Pradeep Gawande. Tina tied the knot with Pradeep in late April after getting a divorce from her former husband, Athar Aamir Khan. But, the Rajasthan government ordered the abrupt transfer of Tina and her second husband from Jaipur to Jaisalmer and Udaipur respectively.
Tina on Wednesday announced that she had taken charge as the District Collector and Magistrate of Jaisalmer. She was earlier posted as a Joint Secretary in the Finance Department of the Rajasthan government. Tina has replaced Dr. Pratibha Singh, who’s been transferred to Jaipur as the Director of Panchayati raj.
Tina shared a series of photos that showed her taking charge in her new office. A visibly elated civil servant from Delhi wrote, “Joined as District Collector & Magistrate, Jaisalmer today.”
IAS officer Dev Choudhary wrote, “Congratulations Tina.” Similar congratulatory reactions came from her other well-wishers.
It seems Tina has cracked on with her job on the very first day of taking charge. In one photo, she was seen issuing instructions to her staff members. While she was seen signing important government files in another photo.
Tina is known for being a thoroughly professional civil servant and has impressed her seniors during the nationwide pandemic. She was seen managing the government works at the frontline by risking her life.
Tina wasted no time in changing her Instagram bio, which now read, “District Collector & Magistrate, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.”
The only disappointing aspect of her new transfer may be the separation from Pradeep, who’s been transferred to Udaipur.
According to the Rajasthan government’s order, Tina was one of the 29 civil servants transferred with immediate effect. Tina was directed to take charge as the new District Collector and District Magistrate of Jaisalmer.
Pradeep was serving as the Joint Administrative Secretary in the Education Department of the Rajasthan government in Jaipur, has been told to take charge as the Managing Director of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited and Director (Petroleum) in Udaipur.
