Controversial actor Veivek Oberoi has now deleted his tweet degrading his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai alongside her minor daughter. While deleting his controversial meme, Vivek also apologised to women in general for offending their sentiments.
Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, he wrote, may not be so to others. The actor also went on to repeat his lines from his earlier interview with ANI that he had spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls. “I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever,” he claimed.
In his subsequent tweet, he wrote, “Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies?? tweet deleted.”

He had launched an extraordinary personal attack on Sonam Kapoor, who called his act of degrading a woman on social media ‘disgusting and classless.’ Reacting to Sonam’s attack, Vivek had ‘advised’ her to ‘overreact’ less on social media and cut down on ‘overacting’ in her films.
“I have read her tweet. I think sometimes people try to be cool on social media and write such things. I would like to ask Sonam. What has she done on women empowerment? In the last 10 years, I’ve rescued 2200 children from child prostitution and forced labour. We provided free education and free healthcare and empowered them. Some of them are now studying on scholarships in the US, UK and Canada. These are well documented. Magazines like Forbes and other international magazines have published this,” Vivek told news agency ANI.
Even while deleting his controversial meme degrading Aishwarya, Vivek Oberoi has chosen not to apologise to Sonam. In the meme shared by Vivek, Aishwarya was seen with Salman, who she reportedly dated before being romantically linked with Vivek Oberoi. Right at the bottom of the collage, Aishwarya was also seen with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. The meme termed Aishwarya’s relationship with Salman an ‘opinion poll’ and likened her association with Vivek as exit poll while her marriage with Abhishek was called a ‘result.’
