A video of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh comforting a distraught Pakistani cricket fan after India’s splendid win against their arch-rivals in the ongoing cricket World Cup has gone viral. The Simmba actor is earning plenty of plaudits for his magnanimity immediately after the crucial World Cup tie.

In the viral video, Ranveer is seen hugging a visibly dejected fan of Pakistani team as he says, “Put it there man, put it there. There’s always a next time.” This incredible gesture by an Indian film star appears to lift the morale of the Pakistani fan, who’s heard saying, “Thank you.” Ranveer continues, “Don’t be disheartened. You’ve played well. Boys are committed, dedicated, professional and they will be back.”

Fans have been praising Ranveer for his gesture. One wrote, “Well done Ranveer.” “Man with golden heart,” wrote another user on Instagram. One user commented, “This man is something … a rare quality.” “Such a sweet person,” wrote one user.

Ranveer was at the Old Trafford ground on Sunday to watch the much-awaited India-Pakistan match, which the team in blue won comfortably. Ranveer later flooded his Instagram by flaunting photos with some of the biggest cricketing icons from around the world.

While sharing a photo with former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, Ranveer Singh wrote, “THE TURBANATOR! ”

He also shared a photo with former Indian batting sensation Virender Seghwag. The caption of his photo with Sehwag read, “Arguably the most destructive batsman the world has ever seen.”

Then came a photo with the Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar as he wrote, “MASTER BLASTER.”

His next set of photos included some of the biggest names from the current Indian squad posing with the Bollywood heartthrob. They included KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya.

He paid a heartfelt tribute to the Indian captain Virat Kohli while sharing an adorable photo with him from the Old Trafford cricket ground. Ranveer wrote, “Ive been a die-hard fan of Indian cricket since childhood. Invested so much emotion into our beloved team. Willing and wanting them to be the undisputed best in the world. And then, there was VIRAT KOHLI. Ive witnessed a brash boy evolve into the very embodiment of class. Displaying a rare brand of ferocity and passionate expression, he changed the face of Indian cricket forever. He’s well on his way to being hailed as the greatest of all time. Leading our country like a true alpha warrior. Yeh naya India hai, aur yeh banda naye India ka Hero hai. We are proud of you, Kaptaan. Virat Kohli.”

Kohli is married to Bollywood actress and former co-star of Ranveer, Anushka Sharma. On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the character of India’s World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev in his upcoming film 83, which is set to release in April next year.
