Actor Nargis Fakhri has revealed that she was indeed in a romantic relationship with Uday Chopra for five years but regrets not going public about her love life in the past.
Speaking to a website, Nargis said that Uday was the ‘most beautiful human’ she met in India. “Uday and I dated for 5 years and he was the most beautiful human I met in India. I never have said this to the press as people told me to keep my relationship quiet, but I regret that because I should have shouted from the mountain tops that I was with such a beautiful soul,” the actor told ETimes in an interview.
Nargis, who now lives in the US, added, “The internet and social media is very fake and the people out there won’t know what the truth is. Most often we idolise certain people who are actually bad behind closed doors.”
Both Nargis and Uday had previously denied dating each other. Uday had even taken to Twitter in 2016 to term rumours about his relationship with Nargis fake. “Ok so it had to come to this… @NargisFakhri and I are close friends and all the rumors that are doing the rounds have no basis in reality,” Uday had written on Twitter in 2016.

Nargis said that she had planned to return to Bollywood to resume her acting career last year but the pandemic put paid to her plans. She said that she had remained in touch with many Bollywood actors such as Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi and Ileana D’Cruz. “I keep in touch with Varun (Dhawan), Ileana (D’Cruz) and Huma (Qureshi) but mostly through Instagram. Recently when I was in Texas, I had lunch with Ileana. When Huma was in LA we hiked together and had lunch, too,” she added.
The actor, who made her Bollywood debut with Rockstar opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 2011, has also featured in several films such as Main Tera Hero, Madras Café, Housefull 3, Kick, Azhar, Dishoom and Banjo among others.
