Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to pay rich tributes to Anupam Shyam after the Slumdog Millionaire fame actor passed away due to multiple organ failure at the age of 63 in Mumbai. The veteran actor was in the hospital being treated for a kidney infection.
However, the actor suffered multiple organ failures during the treatment.
Actor Yashpal Sharma, according to news agency ANI, said, “I got to know that he’s no more. So we rushed here & found he was still breathing. The doctor later declared him dead. He was hospitalised for 4 days. He had high blood sugar & used to take injections during shooting of his last film.”
Actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “Rest in peace my friend !!! You loved it fully both as an actor and as a person!!! Bahut yaad aaoge Dilli aur mumbai me bitaye din bhi yaad aayenge !!! जो जिया अच्छा जिया मेरे दोस्त !! प्रभु तुम्हारी आत्मा को शांति दें !!!”
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit wrote, “Sad to know about the demise of one of the finest actors & a great human being #AnupamShyam due to multiple organ failure .
My heartfelt condolences to his family . A great loss to the film & tv industry.”
Aside from acting in several TV series, Shyam had also featured in many films such as Nayjak: The Real Hero, Dil Se and Lagaan.
