“Stupidity at peak”: BJP leader faces condemnation for poisonous tweet asking if Shah Rukh Khan spat on Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains


BJP leader from Haryana is facing widespread condemnation for his dangerous tweet suggesting that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had spat near Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains.

Arun Yadav had shared a video of a TV broadcast that showed Shah Rukh reciting a prayer before blowing in the air. Sharing the video, Yadav asked disparagingly, “Did he spit?”

His tweet prompted many Hindutva supporters to launch an attack against Shah Rukh Khan.

Yadav, whose Twitter bio describes him the state in-charge of BJP’s IT Cell in Haryana, soon began to face condemnation from Twitter users. One wrote, “Blowing air. Arun Yadav’s stupidity at peak. #LataMangeshkar.”

Another user wrote, “Shah Rukh Khan reading a dua and blowing on Lata ji’s mortal remains for protection and blessings in the next life. Cannot comprehend the level of bitterness of those saying he is spitting.” “SRK is blowing air on duas , pls enlighten what is the one below doiNg IT CELL WOrker,” commented another user.

Another user wrote, “I can’t believe people can be so insensitive and hungry for limelight. Making a dua looks like spitting to you? #shame>”

Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 at a Mumbai hospital on Sunday. She was later cremated with full state honours.
