Sudhir Chaudhary of Zee News on Tuesday took to Twitter once again to share a new update on his health days after testing positive for coronavirus. No sooner did he post a photo of himself with a tweet, his supporters began to wish him speedy recovery once again.

Sharing a photo of himself, Chaudhary tweeted, “Signing off from the hospital. On my way back home and a new life… Thanks for keeping me in your prayers.”

Reacting to his tweets, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP, Rakesh Sinha wrote, “pray for speedy recovery.” Activist Tehseen Poonawalla tweeted, “Dearest @sudhirchaudhary ji, so happy to see u have recovered. Sending you lots of love and positive energies. See you soon on tv. Much love.”

Similar sentiments followed from many others on the microblogging site.

Chaudhary, who presents Zee News‘ prime time TV show DNA, had tweeted on 20 May, “Dear viewers and well-wishers, I’ve been away from DNA for two days and have been flooded by calls and messages from you. I’m deeply touched by your concern for me.”

Earlier, many of his critics had used the opportunity to remind the controversial TV anchor about his attempts to malign the members of the Tablighi Jamaat through his coverage as he blamed them for the spread of the virus last year.

Several high courts in India had exonerated the Tablighi Jamaat from allegations of being responsible for the spread of the virus. The Bombay High Court had even blamed a section of media to mischievously run a campaign against Tablighi Jamaat.

The Bombay High Court had said in its order, “There was big propaganda in print media & electronic media against the foreigners who had come to Markaz Delhi & an attempt was made to create a picture that these foreigners were responsible for spreading COVID-19 virus in India.”
