Although Salman Khan may have told the Bigg Boss audience on Saturday night that this week’s elimination will be announced on Sunday night, media platforms are replete with news of Shrishty Rode’s elimination from the reality show.
The news gained momentum after Vikas Gupta, the last year’s contestant of the Bigg Boss show, tweeted implying that the popular TV actress had been evicted. He wrote on Twitter, ” “I love you @SrSrishty , I am so glad you did the show and I got to see what an amazing person you are. This season will be remembered for your dances, your smiles and YOU. What you brought to this show, no one else did. #HappinessKiGudiya ❤️#Bigboss12”

The news of Shrishty’s eviction was further confirmed by entertainment portal Pinkvilla, which claims to have interviewed her post her eviction. The website quoted her saying, “It is really very unfortunate that I’m out, I think I could have stayed inside for longer as there were weaker contestants. Jasleen Matharu, Somi, to some extent even Rohit, Megha was going really wrong, so all these contestants were weaker according to me. My game was getting better and stronger, I am just sad about coming out but also very happy that people are really sad and shocked about my eviction. I am really grateful for their support during my stay inside the house.”
On Saturday night, Salman had declared Deepak Thakur, Dipika Kakar and Karanvir Bohra as safe. Shrishty’s reported eviction has come as a shock given her popularity as a TV actress.
Many social media users felt that Shrishty’s elimination will further damage the show’s TRP, which has been on decline for last few weeks. The weekly TRPs declared last week had placed the show at 17th most popular TV programmes.
