Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar on Sunday dominated Twitter conversation after netizens began to incessantly troll him, holding his commentary responsible for the dismissal of Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur.
According to Twitter users, both Pant and Thakur lost their wickets immediately after Manjrekar praised them for their batting in the Oval Test. One user pointed out how Pant was out for 50 soon after Manjrekar said that the Indian batsman would now pose a big danger to the England cricket team.
Thakur, according to many social media users, too departed at 60 after Manjrekar praised him for his batting prowess.
Here’s how they reacted:

India were bowled out for 191 in their first innings. England were all out for 290, taking a lead of 99 runs in the first innings. However, Indian batsmen surprised everyone with their measured batting with many of them rising to the occasion. Rohit Sharma scored his first Test century outside India, Cheteshwar Pujara made 61, while skipper Virat Kohli chipped in with 44 runs.
India are set to pose a challenging target with little over one day’s play left in the Test. The series is currently tied at 1-1.
