A day after Sania Mirza’s sister Anam Mirza got married to Mohammad Asaduddin, the son of former India cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin, the newly-wed couple have inundated their social media pages with more photos of their wedding. In one particular post, Anam almost confessed to having her dream realised after marrying Asad.
In her latest Instagram post, Anam shared a photo of herself with Asad as she wrote, “Dream. #AbBasAnamHi.” This is the hashtag she’s been trying to popularise ever since she began to publicly speak about her marriage with Asad.
In the photo, taken during the couple’s marriage reception, Anam looked stunningly beautiful in a shimmering champagne-coloured gown, Asad opted for a black tuxedo. The reception was a big deal as the who’s who of Hyderabad turned up to attend the party.
Asad too took to Instagram to share the same photo and wrote, “A fairytale wedding #love #abbasanamhi”
He also shared a video of the couple.
Notable among them were Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Azharuddin’s former wife Sangeeta Bijlani, who was seen attired in a blue lehenga for the occasion. Azhar, as expected, had gone for a traditional sherwani.
Also gracing the occasion were actor Ram Charan and wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, who’s the Vice-Chairperson, Apollo Foundation, reported Economic Times. Farah Khan, a close friend of Sania and Anam, too was present. Actor Ashish Chowdhry, whose new TV series Beyhadh 2 has just gone on air, was also spotted with wife Samita Bangargi at the reception party.
Sania Mirza had taken to Instagram to flaunt the outfits that she wore for her sister’s wedding.
The Mirzas are royalty in Hyderabad just like the Ambanis in Mumbai. What makes the alliance between Anam and Asad even more special is Azhar’s pedigree as one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team. Azhar, who led India both in One Day International and Test matches for a number of years, is currently the President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
Sania had confirmed in October this year that her younger sister Anam will marry Asad. “She is actually getting married in December. We just came back from her bachelorette trip in Paris. We are really excited,” she had told Times of India.
This is Anam’s second marriage after she separated from her first husband Akbar Rasheed in 2018. Both had got married in a star-studded ceremony in 2016.
