The public spat between Kapil Sharma and Sunil was what led to the downfall of the famous comedian as Sony TV had to axe not one but two of his prime time shows. Since Sony pulled the plug on Kapil’s shows, once-famous comedian actor went into oblivion.

His recent photos painted a sorry picture of Kapil Sharma with concluding that fame and money, when not handled with care, could spell disaster. In contrast, Sunil has gone on to create a new career option in Bollywood may have just secured his future as an actor.

The comedian, whose character Dr Mashoor Gulati assumed an iconic stature on Sony TV, has secured a role opposite Salman Khan in his next year’s mega release Bharat. He was also recently seen in a meaty role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha. Given Vishal’s pedigree of producing path-breaking films such as Omkara, Kaminey, Haider and Maqbool, Sunil appeared to be on course to cement his position as a serious actor in Bollywood.

Even though Kapil has left the public space for quite some time, his and Sunil’s fans have often wondered if they would ever share the same screen space again. Whilst, they have yet to make up their mind, Salman has just endorsed their jodi by adjudging them the most funniest couple.

In the extended promo of Bigg Boss, released by Colors TV boss Raj Nayak recently, Salman is seen answering a few rapid fire questions. In response to a question on who he thinks is the funniest couple, Salman says ‘Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover.’ The Race 3 actor then goes on to describe Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan as power couple of Bollywood.

It will be too early to speculate if Salman may play a mediator in bringing the two popular comedians together back on TV screen.

This year’s Bigg Boss will start from mid September with contestants largely consisting of real-life couples. Some of the names on probable contestants, already doing the rounds, include  Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim, TV actors Rithvik Dhanjani and Asha Negi, love birds Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar and Kratika Sengar and Nikitin Dheer among others.
