Salman Khan’s lawyer has clarified that the actor’s decision to slap Kamaal R Khan with a defamation suit had nothing to do with his negative review of Radhe. DSK Legal said in a statement that Salman decided to initiate a defamation case against Kamaal R Khan, also known as KRK, because the latter had made several objectionable comments about the Bollywood star through his social media posts.
DSK Legal, according to India Times, said in its statement, “Mr. Kamaal R Khan, the Defendant, has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Mr. Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the Defendant reviewed the film, Radhe. This is incorrect. The suit has been filed as the Defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr. Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand “Being Human” are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits. The Defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Mr. Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself.”
Earlier, KRK had appealed to Salman’s father Salim Khan on Twitter vowing to never review the Radhe actor’s film in the future. In a series of tweets, KRK had written, “Respected @luvsalimkhan Sahab, I am not here to destroy @BeingSalmanKhan films or his career. I review films just for fun. If I know that Salman get affected by my review so I won’t review. If he could have asked me to not review his film So I would have not reviewed. Therefore there is no need to file a case to stop me from reviewing his film. Salim Sir, I am not here to hurt anyone. So I won’t review his film in the future. Pls ask him to not proceed the case. I will delete my review videos also, if you want. Thank you Salim Sahab!”
However, his tone changed on Thursday as he began to make disparaging comments about Salman’s lawyers by calling them ‘liars.’ He wrote on Thursday, “Dear #DSK lawyers sorry Liars, you have filed this case against me. You have forgotten in two days only? Kitni weak memory hai Aap logo Ki. Sharam Karo!”
In a separate tweet, KRK wrote, “Normally I don’t review the film if producer director or actor of the film asks me to not review it. But Now if this man will request me, or even touch my feet also, still I will review his each film and each song. Satyamev Jayate! Jai Hind!”
