Filmmaker Karan Johar took to his Instagram page on Saturday to post a photo, taken from the sets of his next film Simmba, which is being directed by Rohit Shetty. Among those present in the photo are Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan.
Simmba has been in news because this could well be the debut film for Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, who is pared opposite Ranveer Singh. The shooting for the film has already commenced and this could be ready for the release in December this year.
While posting the photo from the sets of Simmba, Karan wrote, “Bone crushing love on the sets of #SIMMBA! The brilliant and epic combination of @itsrohitshetty and @ranveersingh! The introduction of the stunning @saraalikhan95 and the madness and magic of the film!this has been such a super journey!!!! In the photo, Ranveer is seen planting a passionate kiss on Karan as Rohit and Sara attempt to hug the famous filmmaker. Goign by the facial expression of Karan, he appears to be enjoying the public display of the intense affection by his actor.
Within moments of Karan posting the photo, Sara and Ranveer too uploaded the same image from their official pages. Calling herself lucky to be a part of Simmba, Sara wrote, “Lucky me ??♀️? #simmba #cantbelieveit #toomuchlove #blessed.”
Justifying his decision to publicly kiss Karan, Ranveer wrote, “Hamare yahaan pyar hi pyar milega! ?? Special appearance on the sets of #Simmba @karanjohar @itsrohitshetty @saraalikhan95.”
Fans were quick to link the Ranveer’s public display of love for Karan Johar to the recent Supreme Court’s historic verdict banning the decriminalisation of homosexuality. One fan wrote, “Section 377 know u allowed.” Another wrote, “After 377 gone karan johar opening his self.” “Karan can’t stop to showing his happiness of sec 377,” wrote another fan.
In his book, Unsuitable Boy, the acclaimed filmmaker had stopped short of accepting his sexual orientation. While reacting to the last week’s Supreme Court’s verdict on Section 377, Karan had said that India had finally got its oxygen back.
