Bollywood megastar Salman Khan appears to have finally broken his silence over Vivek Oberoi’s controversial meme degarding Aishwarya Rai with her minor daughter. Reacting to meme controversy, Salman has reportedly said that he too busy in his work and had no time to tweet or pay attention to others posting memes on him.
Salman is busy promoting his upcoming film Bharat which is scheduled to be released on 6 June coinciding Eid. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star, according to a report by Times of India, said that he used to be active on the microblogging site but not anymore due to his hectic work schedule.
A report by ABP News said that Salman made the comment during a press conference to promote his film Bharat. “Main dhyan hi nahi deta. Pehle jaisa tweet hi nahi karta, toh memes kya dekhunga. Main kaam karoon ya comments dekhoon. Main bilkul dhyan nahi deta (I don’t bother about tweets anymore. I don’t tweet anymore the way I used to, so how can I see memes? Should I concentrate on work or should I check memes?)” ABP quoted him as saying.
Many are detecting a jibe for Vivek Oberoi by stating that he was too busy with work to post tweet. Vivek has failed to land a decent role in any big movies for several years now. His next much-talked-about movie is a propaganda film, a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In contrast both Aishwarya and Salman continue to rule the roost in Bollywood enjoy huge fan following globally. Aishwarya has become an integral part of Cannes Film Festival, while Salman’s Eid release every year is eagerly anticipated by millions of his fans.
There’s considerable interest in Salman’s Bharat, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Disha Patani among others.
In the meme shared by Vivek, Aishwarya was seen with Salman, who she reportedly dated before being romantically linked with Vivek Oberoi. Right at the bottom of the collage, Aishwarya was also seen with her husband Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya. The meme termed Aishwarya’s relationship with Salman an ‘opinion poll’ and likened her association with Vivek as exit poll while her marriage with Abhishek was called a ‘result.’
Faced with widespread condemnation, he had deleted the tweet. Vivek had later launched a personal attack on Sonam Kapoor, who called his act ‘disgusting and classless.’
