Baahubali actress Tamannaah Bhatia has come in the defence of filmmaker Sajid Khan, who was accused of sexual predatory by several actresses last year. Speaking to a newspaper, Tamannaah, who acted in Himmatwala and Humshakals with Sajid, also disagreed with Vidya Balan. Vidya had said that she will never work with Sajid after the filmmaker was accused of allegations of sexual misconduct.
“He never treated me in any bad way and I was completely comfortable working with him,” Tamannaah told Deccan Chronicle. She said that for her, it had always been ‘about the script and what’s the kind of film that I am working on.’ Tamannaah said, “When I worked with Sajid, unfortunately, none of our films did well,” says the actress and adds.”
Reacting to Vidya’s comments about Sajid, she said, “Everyone has a different experience and everybody is entitled to their own opinion and experience. If Vidya has had a bad experience, it’s normal for her to react like that.”
Saloni Chopra, alleged how Sajid had routinely sexually harassed and mentally tortured her. This led to Askahy Kumar issuing a strong statement, asking the producer of Housefull 4 to cancel the film’s shooting. Sajid, who was the director of the film, too had issued a statement saying he was stepping down as the director of the film.
Sajid’s sister, Farah Khan, had termed the development ‘heartbreaking’ adding that if allegations her brother were true, then he had ‘a lot to atone for.’
Sajid’s cousin, Farhan Akhtar, too had reacted strongly stating that the revelation had left him ‘heartbroken’ and shocked.’ Farhan had tweeted, “I cannot adequately stress how shocked, disappointed and heartbroken I am to read the stories about Sajid’s behaviour. I don’t know how but he will have to find a way to atone for his alleged actions.”
Sajid and Farah are children of Maneka Irani, whose sister Honey Irani is the mother of Farhan and Zoya Akhtar.
