This year’s Indian Idol has been hailed for showcasing some of the most talented budding singers on the reality show. The singing reality show this year is being judged by music composer Vishal Dadlani and singers Javed Ali and Neha Kakkar.
One viewer reached out to Vishal on Twitter last week, expressing her desire to be in the audience when the show is being recorded. The viewer, identified as Soumya Dhal said that she was undergoing a treatment for cancer at a Mumbai hospital and wished to meet the three judges and the show’s anchor, Manish Paul, who she was a big fan of.
Her tweet read, “Hello Sir, I’m a cancer patient admitted in Hinduja Hospital. I have a small wish to watch a live episode of Indian Idol and meet you, Neha Ma’am and specially Maniesh ji. I’m big fan of him. By the time I’ll be well the show must have finished. Will you fulfill my wish please?” Wasting no time, Vishal replied, “You’re welcome to come watch us shoot, @Soumyadhal623. We film on Mondays in Andheri. Let me know when you’d like to come & we’ll make arrangements for your travel to the studio & back, along with medical supervisors or doctors who may need to come with you.”
Soumya shared her contact details for the Indial Idol crew to coordinate her visit. Later Vishal informed that he was looking forward to welcoming her for the shoot on Monday. He wrote, “Can’t wait to see you at the shoot on Monday, and especially to introduce you to the magic voices of our contestants, and the madness of @ManishPaul03 , who can heal any illness with positivity and laughter. Expect a call any time now, to set it up. :)”

Vishal’s incredible gesture has earned him plenty of plaudits from social media users. One user wrote, “Sir U r such a great person. I respecte u a lot.” Another commented, “Rare nowadays. God bless you Mr Vishal. I remember some time ago you recorded a song with special kids, as i have a special kid too. Be blessed.”

This year’s Indian Idol was hit by India’s own MeToo movement, when one of the judges, Anu Malik, had to be replaced midway through the season after many women accused him of sexual misconduct. Singer Javed Ali had later replaced him as a judge.
