India stunned by singer KK’s tragic death during LIVE performance in Kolkata


The tragic death of popular playback singer KK during a LIVE event in Kolkata has left music lovers stunned both in India and abroad. KK, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, reportedly fell ill right after the LIVE event at south Kolkata’s Nazrul Manch. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Born to Malayali Hindu parents CS Menon and Kunnath Kanakavalli, KK received his education from Delhi before he embarked on a music career. He started his career by composing jingles before he received his big break in Bollywood. The 53-year-old singer lent his voice to films in several Indian languages including Hindi, Malayali and Tamil among others.

While we wait for the hospital to inform us about the real cause of KK’s tragic death, music lovers have begun reacting in shock at his death. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted, “Tragic to hear about the passing away of KK after falling ill while performing in Kolkata. Another reminder of how fragile life is. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.”

Actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti.”
