IAS toppers couple Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir Khan are formally divorced three years after their inter-faith wedding grabbed media headlines across India.
A family court in Jaipur, where the couple had moved for divorce last year, has granted their request for divorce.
Tina Dabi had topped the UPSC exams in 2016 by securing the all India number one rank, while Athar being placed at number two the same year. They fell in love with each other during their training at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.
Both of them had also travelled to London as part of their training. Several high profile personalities including ministers from the Indian government and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu had attended their wedding in 2018.

Tina had proudly added Khan in her surname and changed her Instagram bio to declare herself as a Kashmiri bahu. However, last year she dropped Khan from her surname and removed ‘Kashmiri bahu’ reference from Instagram bio. This had led to both unfollowing each other on Instagram.

Both Tina and Athar are from the Rajasthan cadre and were posted in the same city of Bhilwara at the rank equivalent to the SDM. Later, both of them were transferred out of Bhilwara to Shri Ganganagar and Jaipur respectively. While Tina was transferred as the CEO, Zilla Parishad of Shri Ganganagar, Athar had accepted his new posting in Jaipur as the CEO, Zilla Parishad of the state capital.
Athar is currently posted in Jammu and Kashmir on deputation.
