A year after Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death in Mumbai, a huge tragedy has struck the actor’s family in Bihar where five members of his family have died in a road accident.

Those killed in a road accident include Laljit Singh, the brother-in-law of late Sushant’s brother-in-law OP Singh, Amit Shekhar Singh, Ramchandra Singh, DG Kumari and the driver, identified as Pritam Kumar. They all are reportedly have died on the spot after their SUV rammed into a truck carrying LPG cylinders. The said truck was coming from other direction on the National Highway 333.

The accident, according to NDTV. took place on the Sikandra-Sheikhpura road when the driver fell asleep. The family members were returning to Jamui after performing the last rites of Singh’s sister in Patna.

Four other people have reportedly sustained injuries in the accident. They have been shifted to Patna for treatment.

Sushant’s brother-in-law, OP Singh, is an IPS officer, currently posted with the Haryana Police.

“The victims were returning to Jamui from Patna. Six people, including the driver, were killed in the accident,” Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar was quoted by news agency PTI..

Sushant was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in June last year. His fans refused to accept the suicide theory attached to his death. The case assumed a huge political colour prompting the Bihar government to refer the investigation to the CBI.

The federal probe agency has not been able to detect a murder angle despite months of investigations. However, soon after his death, the central government agency, Narcotics Control Bureau, arrested Sushant’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in connection with a drug racket. Rhea was later released.

The credibility of the NCB has recently been severely dented after Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik revealed a series of evidence exposing Sameer Wankhede for allegedly running an extortion racket in Bollywood. Wankhede is the zonal director of the NCB.

Sameer Wankhede has denied allegations against him. He’s currently facing allegations of arresting Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan to extort Rs. 25 crore from the Bollywood superstar. The matter is being investigated both by the NCB and a special team of the Mumbai Police.

Meanwhile, Wankhede has been removed from investigating the case involving Aryan Khan.
