Arnab Goswami has been away from TV for several days leaving his supporters worried as they urged the Republic TV founder to return to conducting his usual debates. Not too long ago, the Rajasthan government had filed a criminal case against the controversial TV anchor for misreporting on the demolition of a temple in Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan High Court, which had granted him interim protection from earlier, extended the relief by four weeks on Thursday.

Arnab was booked at the Ambamata Police Station in Udaipur on 17 May under Sections 153A, 295A, 120B, 499, 501, 504 & 505 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant sections of Information Technology Act, 200 read with N.S.A Act.

It’s not clear whether Arnab’s sudden absence from the TV os linked to the criminal case filed against him in Rajasthan, but his fans have begun urging him to return to TV.

The Rajasthan Police had also booked another TV anchor, Aman Chopra, for misreporting on the temple demolition case. A team from the Rajasthan Police had raided the house of Chopra in Noida, but the anchor working for Mukesh Ambani’s TV channel had fled from his house, forcing the cops to paste the arrest warrant on his house. Chopra too had to approach the high court to get protection from arrest. Chopra has now been told to appear before the Rajasthan Police on 27 May for interrogation.
