After first denying the allegations of fraud against her by a jewellery brand, actor-model Hina Khan has now made a spectacular U-turn in the case.
Speaking to a TV channel, the former Bigg Boss contestant said that the jewellery brand in question had indeed given her the ornaments to wear for an event but she never wore it as they were misplaced by her stylist while travelling in an auto rickshaw.
She told ABP news, “Firstly I didn’t wear their jewellery as I didn’t like them and opted for another one. My stylist Hemlata’s assistants misplaced it in auto rickshaw. She is trying hard to return it and she has already paid about Rs 2.86 lakh. Media houses are discussing legal notice which has reached to them unfortunately and not me. I just want to say, show me the signatures of receiving on it. But definitely this incident has defamed me, so, my lawyers are looking into it. They don’t know what is going to happen to them. They are definitely going to receive a legal notice from me. I will make sure they apologise (sic).”
This came just a day after a Hindi channel aired the jewellery brand’s allegations that Hina had failed to return the expensive ornaments worth Rs 12 Lakh after the Dadasahib Phalke awards in April. The company, said the TV report, had given Hina 15 days to return the jewellery or face legal action.
Hina had taken to Twitter make fun of the allegations saying that this was an attempt by her detractors to take the shine away from the success of her debut music video, Bhasoodi, which has now clocked 10 million views. She had tweeted, ““LOL wonder why this legal notice did not reach my house and instead reached all the media houses.. sorry haters this tactic will not work.. try something new.. bhassodi will still shine.”

Hina received plenty of support from her fans on Twitter, where she has been actively retweeting favourable comments posted by her followers. One tweet shared by her read, “It’s pure jealousy, well planned strategy of a abusive fandom …as they r unable to digest the stairs of achievements Hina has been climbing for years n always wins at every step due to her hardwork but they can’t succeed as #Bhasoodi is huge success and Hina is name for success. (sic)” Another fan wrote, “No matter how much they try to pull you down but you always shine bright like a diamond.”
Hina was recently in news after several media reports suggested that she will be cast as new age Kumolika after Ekta Kapoor relaunches famous TV series Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
Hina has found herself in news almost regularly since she left the reality TV show, Bigg Boss earlier this year. She’s either getting trolled for her perceived inappropriate clothes or hurting religious sentiments of Muslims. But, unaffected by constant trolling, she has continued to keep her fans engaged with her regular social media posts.
